Who is in the band?
The primary core of Collide is Statik and kaRIN. Statik is responsible for
all of the sound orchestrations and overall production. kaRIN takes care of
the vocals and words.
Where do they live now?
Presently, they live and record in Los Angeles.
How did they meet and when did Collide start?
The two members of Collide met at an industrial club in L.A., became
friends, and later formed the band in 1993.
Where did the name Collide come from?
The name Collide was chosen as it seemed to represent the clashing and
melding of styles into a powerful whole, the coming together of two
different entities.
Who are the guest artists on their albums?
Although kaRIN & Statik core the sound, they also like to work with other
guest musicians and like to incorporate as many other influences as they
can. With a wide range of sounds, these guest artists to date have included
people like Chris Candelaria, also of Drumatic, William Faith and Monica
Richards of Faith and the Muse, and Kevin Kipnis of Purr Machine to name a
few.
Do they have any previous releases before Collide?
Statik had an independently released solo project, a four song EP called
Statik "Machines" released in 1988.
How many CDs have Collide released so far?
Collide have released three CDs to date: "Beneath the Skin", "Distort",
"Chasing the Ghost" and "Some Kind of Strange". A full discography is

What else have the members of Collide done?
Well rooted in the music industry, Statik's programming talents have been
sought out by many artists in the music industry. These artists include
Prince, Tool, Machines of Loving Grace, Love and Rockets, Red Hot Chili
Peppers, and Powerman 5000, to name a few. He has also done re-mixes for
bands like Frontline Assembly.
Currently he is also involved in the re-formation of Skinny Puppy
kaRIN, has done guest vocal work for cEvin Key's side project PlatEAU, as
well contributing vocals to the remix of Frontline Assembly.
What kind of equipment does Collide use?
The equipment used are Akai S-6000 and S-3200 samplers, a Oberheim matrix
1000, a Studio Electronics
